66% LTE coverage in Poland thanks to the Plus operator

Polkomtel, the Plus network operator, resumed its network rollout. The final outcome of works presently conducted by Plus should be extending the coverage of the LTE network to make it available for 66% of the population of the country. The coverage by HSPA/HSPA+ technology should reach almost 100% as the result of the same works.

Polkomtel wishes to apologise to the costumers for any possible inconvenience. „ We make every effort to conduct our works in the least burdensome way, and whenever possible to perform them at night” – said the Member of the Board for Polkomtel, Mr Tobias Solorz.

The network rollout is a response to the ever-increasing data consumption and the expectation of the internet users that said daya will be quickly and reliably transmitted. This change is accompanied by a growing number of ultramodern devices.

„We want to offer the best possible service for the biggest possible population in the country, and for this purpose the extension of the network is essential. We already have the most modern network in Poland, which offers the best internet access for the largest number of Poles. We still strive to expand this access and cover all internet users in our country” – said the Polkomtel Member of the Board, Wojciech Pytel.

The operator began the massive modernisation works in the autumn last year, and the result of the first stage of works is the access to superfast internet in LTE technology, as well HSPA/HSPA+ access.  The coverage of Plus LTE extends already to over 50% of the inhabitants of our countr, while 93% can use the high speed internet access HSPA/HSPA+.
